John Deere Hats for Truckers
Most of the John Deere hats are teamster hats. John Deere hat, formerly known as “gimme cap” or feed for the plug really became a promotional tool. John Deere dealers would remove the caps from the farmers, transporters and other rural workers, in order to release the name of the market to the society.
They come in all styles now. The first plug was made with a slightly curved bill in front of triangular sections forming the cap itself and a button has been banned in the upper part. The front part of the bill is not cotton, it is foam, and the rest is a plastic mesh to make it more permeable to air port. Putting a plastic adjustable strap at the back meant a size cap would fit nearly any head with just a modest adjustment. John Deere hats are easily identifiable just by looking for that identifiable green worn on someone’s head.
